HANNIBAL – Fairley Elementary School students have become both problem solvers and inventors.

Sixteen third and fourth grade students participated in the 16th annual Inventive Minds Invitational recently, where they competed with students from Wayne County school districts to recognize a problem, develop strategies to work through the problem and develop an invention to solve the problem.
A total of 25 Hannibal students participated in the process, and 16 advanced to the regional invitational, hosted at Fairley Elementary.
This was the third year Hannibal students competed.
The top Hannibal inventors include: Cole Borrow (Chicken Leg Holder), Alexander Butchino (Bus Timer), Chloe Davis (The Snow Plow Show), Layla Emmoms (Umbrella Stick), Ethan Fowler (The Sled Retriever), Benjamin Gilbert (Sneaker Keeper), Emily Kerst (The Snack Passer), Logan Longley (Lok-N-Rok), Sophrona MacDonald (Built in Car Tray Table), Christopher Mandart (Shoe Lace Tubes), Tegan Margrey (Bath Rocks), Cameron McNeil (Safety Treat for Dogs), Kaylee Mott (Dog Toy Picker Upper), Lincoln Oliver (Spider Mechanic), Lexus Sinko (The Right Angle Tablet Holder) and Mackenzie Taylor (Auto Machine Back Scratcher).
