OSWEGO, NY– The 2025 Oswego County Senior Fair is more than just an event. It is a reflection of what is possible when a community comes together. Taking place on Tuesday, September 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Conference and Events Center, the fair is a shining example of how partnerships across sectors can strengthen health and wellness for rural older adults.
Organized by the Caring Community Advocates of Oswego County, a subcommittee of Oswego County Opportunities (OCO)’ Rural Health Network, this year’s fair is powered by a network of committed local partners, each bringing their own resources, expertise, and heart to the table.
“Each year, we ask how we can do more for our seniors,” said Joelle Hutson, Director of the Rural Health Network of Oswego County. “The answer is always the same. We do it together.”
Thanks to these collaborations, this year’s attendees will have access to a wide range of free services and supports:
Senator Ryan said, “I am tremendously proud to be a part of the collaborative efforts that make the Oswego Senior Fair so special. It’s a benefit to all when organizations that do such great work on their own, come together and offer important and necessary resources to our senior communities. From free screenings to fun prizes and activities, the Oswego Senior Fair has a lot to offer all because of the many great partners that came together and made it possible.”
“This committee started as a falls prevention committee and bringing balance screens to the fair just seems appropriate” says Jennifer Rice Home Health Specialist with CenterWell Home Health and chairperson of Caring Community Advocates.
In addition to these services, the fair will feature over 50 vendors offering information and resources for older adults and caregivers, as well as door prizes and giveaways throughout the morning.
