It’s not too late to apply for scholarship money for high school seniors interested in pursuing a degree in the fields of facility management, building maintenance, construction trades or construction management.

Also eligible to apply are those students currently enrolled in one of those programs at the undergrad level.

The Oswego County Chapter of the New York State School Facilities Association is seeking applicants for its annual scholarship awards, and the deadline for submitting applications is fast approaching.

Applications must be postmarked no later than May 1, for consideration.

The association will award at least five $500 scholarships in 2018, depending on the number of qualified applications received.

Scholarship applicants must complete an application and provide a letter of recommendation from their teacher, a counselor or school administrator to support their request for scholarship consideration. In addition, high school and any college transcripts must be submitted for review.

Applicants are encouraged to include information regarding extra-curricular clubs, community service, special awards or honors and personal circumstances that could be taken into consideration to determine the scholarship award(s).

Scholarship applications are available through local high school guidance offices or by contacting Oswego County School Facilities Association President Jim Sheeley at [email protected]. Deadline for submission is May 1.
