OSWEGO, NY – Joey Occhino, owner of Vona’s Restaurant in Oswego, will be providing the next Salvation Army Guest Chef Dinner on June 2, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Worship and Service Center, 73 W. Second St.

Occhino will be preparing her “best in town” lasagna, using her mother’s family recipe for the favorite dish.
It will be served with tossed salad, bread, assorted desserts, and beverages.
Vona’s Restaurant was started by Occhino’s parents, Tom and Mary Vona, in 1946, and has been helping to satisfy the community’s taste for Italian foods for the past 69 years.
The Guest Chef dinners are organized by the advisory board and offered to the community to raise funds to support the work of the Army throughout Oswego County.
There is ample parking and the building is fully accessible.
Dinners may be enjoyed in our dining room or carried out.
Future Guest Chef Dinners this year will be provided through the generosity of the following: Zonta Club of Oswego (roast beef), September 15; Canale’s Restaurant, October 6; and Jimmie James BBQ (chicken barbecue), November 3.
The Oswego County Salvation Army Corps provides fresh-cooked meals and food pantries in both Fulton and Oswego and many other services to individuals of all ages and families in need throughout Oswego County.
Worship services are held at the Oswego location.
The Corps is under the leadership of majors James and Kathryn Purvis.
Persons wishing to know more about The Salvation Army or offer voluntary service are invited to call 343-6491 or stop at the office between 1 and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
