OSWEGO, NY – Recently Oswego School District fourth graders received a visit from jolly folks bearing a gift.
The folks walked into classrooms, reached into their bag and pulled out something that surprisingly brought huge smiles to youngsters…a new thesaurus.
In what has become a tradition by the Kiwanis Club of Oswego, Oswego Rotary Club, Oswego Sunrise Rotary and the River’s End book store worked with the Oswego City School District to provide each fourth grade student with a new thesaurus.

Youngsters waited patiently for the member of one of the community groups to personally hand them a new thesaurus. The pages began to flip immediately as youngsters dove into the compact reference book.
It was noted, “These are yours to keep forever. “
Teachers noted that the publication was an outstanding resource for the fourth grade state mandated tests.
Once again this project demonstrates the value of service clubs working together to improve their community.
