OSWEGO, NY – Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St., in Oswego, proudly announces that the Artist of the Month for August is Sandy (Elizabeth) Clift, a retired teacher who resides in Fulton.

After retiring she returned to SUNY Oswego to study art.
Since beginning to show her art in 2002, her work has been exhibited in local, regional, national and international shows.
Clift will be demonstrating her unique approach to creating mixed media art on August 27 from 5-7 p.m. during the farmers‘ market.
Her work reflects her life-long interest in nature.
As an elementary teacher, she and her students worked with many materials to make dioramas, posters and collages.
Today, she uses similar materials such as newsprint, magazines, tissue paper, rubber stamps and stencils to create surfaces on which she paints flowers, fruit, vegetables, animals, and toys, etc.
She combines an abstract surface with a realistically rendered painting.
Currently, her work is exhibited at Lakeside Artisans in Oswego and at True North Gallery in Hamilton, Mass.
Lakeside Artisans is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Thursday during the farmers’ market until 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
