Budding scientists and researchers in the fourth grade at Lanigan Elementary School showcased projects at the school’s annual science fair.

Aisles of projects ranging from air quality control to safe drinking water and composting to green energy lined tables in the school’s gymnasium and were open for viewing by students and teachers at the school as well as guests from the community.
Participation in the science fair gives each fourth grade student an opportunity to explore an area of interest related to the environment and learn new things.
The students research, develop and test a hypothesis; write a report on their findings; and create eye-catching display materials that explain their topic, experiment and results.
Another component to their projects is a live demonstration and an oral presentation to their peers and guest visitors explaining the findings and scientific principles.
