The sweet smell, snap of the first bite, and smoothness to their skin were all descriptions kindergarteners at James E. Lanigan Elementary School used during their field trip to Greco Family Farm & Orchard, Minetto.

Kindergarten teacher Sandy Patane said students have learned about all five senses: smell, taste, touch, sight and hearing during the Listening and Learning curriculum strand in class.
A trip to the farm and orchard was a fun way for students to connect with the lesson, she said.
They also observed a peacock, horse, sheep and other animals as they made their way through the orchard.
The kindergarteners, their parents who joined, and teachers also enjoyed a hay ride.
