Students at Lanigan Elementary School were excited about positive behavior and celebrated such in true “pep rally” fashion recently.
The lift off assembly recognized positive behaviors and celebrated October’s character trait of Responsibility as well as honored students who have shown improvement over the past month with the “On A Roll” award.

Teachers Dianne Sestak and Marie Mathes shared examples of positive actions and behavior by students at the school which “filled the buckets” of fellow students, teachers or family members.
During the “bucket filling” the Bucket Fairy appeared, danced around the teachers and through the crowd to the cheers of the students.
Principal Bob Briggs explained that when bucket filling is recognized, the bucket fairy, aka Physical Education teacher Mr. Harvey, may appear.
The Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) committee organizes the lift-off assemblies to reinforce good behavior and reward students for their positive actions and behavior.
The Fulton City School District’s and Lanigan Elementary’s behavioral expectations include Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Be a Problem Solver.
