Third grade students from Lanigan Elementary School recently visited their local Wal-Mart store to buy gifts for children in need within the community.

The students held a Spell-a-thon where they used pledge sheets to raise money for every correctly spelled word from a list of 100 words.
Through the generosity of family and friends, each third grade student was given $15 to spend on a child they were shopping for.
Students were each given an angel tag that included a child’s age, sex and
with the help of parent and staff chaperones, the third grades shopped up and down each aisle, in search for the perfect gift.
Students left the store without presents for themselves.
But, received the best present of all, the feeling that comes from helping others.
