OSWEGO – Brooklyn Saternow tapped her way to a first-place finish in Leighton Elementary School’s annual show.

The fifth grader danced to “Mr. Blue Skies,” to which one peer said, “She is so good!”
Thrilled to receive a first place certificate, Saternow also supported the 20 other acts during the day-time show for students and the evening performance for members of the public.
Mason Hall served as show emcee, as he introduced a variety of acts that sang, danced, did gymnastics, a cheer routine, played musical instruments and offered comedic acting.
During the student show, classmates, staff members and guests applauded each act, which encouraged them to always strive toward pursing their talents and interests.

For Saternow’s efforts, she will receive a party at Lighthouse Lanes bowling alley.
Gabe Cook’s piano playing of “Lunar Eclipse” earned him a second-place finish and a $25 Wal-Mart gift card prize, while third place honors and a $15 Wal-Mart gift card went to Addison and Alexa Kuzawski, Josie Murray and Meli Preston for their musical abilities to “Breaking Free.”
Jennifer Symborski, Leighton literacy teacher and talent show organizer, commended all participants of the talent show for having the courage to get in front of a crowd and share their talents.
