OSWEGO, NY – Members from the Oswego Police and Fire departments along with the Oswego Flotilla US Coast Guard Auxiliary and NY Maritime Services will provide a lifejacket sizing and education session to promote the “Wear-It NY” boating and water safety program.
The event will be held during the Oswego Farmers’ Market on July 16 from 5-8 p.m.
Free literature will be available on a wide variety of water safety subjects along with free coloring books and free T-shirts for any of the kids that try on and get fitted for a life jacket.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our local youth to learn how to properly wear a life vest and to be trained in water safety by our local emergency responders, organizers said.
