When 10-year-old Hannah Wise set out to do her Christmas shopping on Black Friday she decided to share her spirit of holiday with others and added a few items to her list.

Using her allowance and a little help from mom and dad, Hanna picked out a number of gifts that she would donate to Oswego County Opportunities.

When she delivered the gifts to representatives of OCO they were pleasantly surprised and praised her for her efforts.

“What a wonderful gesture,” said Jo-Lyn Phillips of OCO. “Hanna’s thoughtfulness and her concern for others is an excellent example of the true meaning of Christmas. We are very appreciative of Hanna’s donation and I’m sure that our consumers who receive these gifts will be very happy when they open them up on Christmas day. Yes, there is a Santa Claus!”

OCO, Inc is a private, non-profit agency that has been supporting communities throughout Oswego County since 1966 and touches the lives of more than 20,000 people annually.

It is a United Way of Greater Oswego County member agency.
