MAM Showcases Student Artwork

Muraled halls of MAM served as a gallery of student work during Friday’s Art Show.
The show featured the artwork of students in kindergarten to fourth grade.
Students took their families and friends through a self-guided tour of the school.
Third graders, for instance, designed Japanese Koi Fish using oil pastels and watercolor.
They also created a winter snow scene that used visual arts concepts of foreground and background.
Fourth graders used value, or the element of shadow, to create silhouette trees.
Attendees enjoyed a slideshow in the cafeteria that featured students working on their projects, and were treated to ice-cream sponsored by the Parent Faculty Organization.
Author Dennis Pullen, who recently visited MAM, gave a live demonstration illustrating the way in which he mouth paints.
Pullen is a quadriplegic who uses a ventilator to breathe. He presented to students on disability awareness and how he’s overcome the obstacles in his path.
Pullen recently finished writing and illustrating his first book, “The Amazing Life of Mr. Pullen.”
