The H. Lee White Marine Museum, located in Oswego’s “Historic Maritime District”, is pleased to partner with the SUNY Oswego Department of Astronomy, to present “Stargazers Night” on Saturday, September 13, 2008 beginning at 7:15 pm.
Join us for a night of stargazing, featuring Dr. Scott Roby, Associate Professor of Astronomy. The featured topic will be “Invaders of Mars,” focusing on our neighboring planet and recent discoveries and developments in our knowledge of it. Was it a water planet? Were there really canals on Mars?
Roby will also provide information on viewing the night sky in our area. Professional equipment will be available for closer viewing of the cosmos and to observe the stars, planets and full moon.
As program size is limited, pre-reservation is required. unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate large groups for this program.  Participants must be age 12 and over. Doors open at 6:45 pm.

Contact the Museum at (315) 342-0480 or [email protected] for information or reservations. Also, check the Museum’s website at www.hleewhitemarinemuseum.com. A nominal $8.00 fee ($5.00 for museum members and students with valid ID) will include refreshments and admission to the Museum.
