Mexico Middle School Names Q1 Super Citizens

MEXICO – Several Mexico Middle School students were recently recognized as Super Citizens throughout the first marking period.

Assistant Principal Patrick Vrooman said the quarterly honor is awarded to students in grades five through eight who meet the following criteria: take the initiative to do the right thing without having to be told, practice good work habits, consistency follow classroom and school rules, serve as a positive role model to others inside and outside of school and contribute to the well-being of the larger community through service.

Special area teachers collaborated with homeroom teachers to identify Mexico Middle School’s Super Citizens from the first quarter of the 2017-18 school year.

Nomination explanations were read at a special school ceremony where the following fifth graders were honored: Eion Hardy, Cosette Laffan, Aeris Nagel, Makenna Nemier, Anin O’Neil and Isabella Ponzi.

Sixth grade Super Citizens are: Katelyn Baker, Ainsley Bigelow, Josh Cantrell, Grace Dann, Maya Loomis, Avery Mack and Hayliann Smith.

Honorees in seventh grade are: Zoe Boozer, Thomas Chmielewski, Gabriel Fox, Jacob Gates, Cordelia Humiston, Owen Marsden, Eric Mashaw, Charles Michaels, Anna Trimble, Alexa vonHoltz and Simon Wilcox.

Eighth grade Super Citizens are: Mackenzie Craig, Morgan Eastman, Kendra Howard and Noah Ratcliff.

For their efforts, each awardee received a certificate of recognition.
