A collaboration between UB and the school district, the state-of-the-art mobile unit has provided an array of dental services without students having to leave school property.

The unit recently spent two weeks outside of Fairley Elementary School, where UB dental students and faculty members offered cleanings, exams, fluoride treatment, X-rays, fillings, stainless steel crowns, extractions and other dental services.

Samantha Hare accompanied her daughter, Fairley Elementary School third grader Madelynn Smith, to her 30-minute appointment.

Hare praised the convenience and ease of access to dental care with the mobile unit, which were overall goals of the partnership.
