Law Scholar Alfred E. Piombino will teach a Notary Public Workshop at the Fulton (Oswego County) Campus of Cayuga Community College for those interested in becoming a New York Notary Public. The special seminar on Thursday, November 14, 2024 runs from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Parking is free; no permit is required.
This practical live seminar (the only one in Oswego County) helps prepare participants to successfully pass the New York State written law examination. It will also cover the recent February 2023/2024 release of the newly designated NYS “Electronic Notary” called eNotary and Remote Online Notarization (RON). New mandatory journal requirements for all New York Notaries will also be discussed, in addition to other new rules and regulations.
Attendance at this law seminar is a must for every applicant to properly prepare for all of the legal duties, authority and responsibilities of holding a New York State Notary Public commission. The law exam and appointment are under the auspices of the New York Secretary of State. The law examination is not offered on the workshop date, but is held on a regular basis throughout New York State, including North Syracuse.
His seminar will also be invaluable to currently commissioned New York Notaries as a continuing education program, especially if the notary self-studied for the pre-appointment examination or took a web-based, programmed training course. He includes hard-to-find information derived from actual, up-to-date court cases which impact every New York notarial act.
Four sample examinations are provided to every participant as a self-study aid for review after the seminar. All participants will receive two books written by the speaker – Notary Public Register and Recordkeeping Protocols and Notary Public Handbook: A Guide for New York.
Piombino is the leading New York and national notary law and practice expert. Starting in 1987, he pioneered, designed and initiated the Notary Public Training Programs at over 35 State University of New York (SUNY) and City of New York (CUNY) colleges throughout New York State, including Cayuga Community College. He has personally prepared tens of thousands of people to pass the New York state proctored examination. Piombino is the author of nine law books, including Notary Public Handbook, a court expert witness, past court official and SUNY college business law faculty and is listed in Who’s Who in American Law.
