FULTON – Thanks to the efforts of the Oswego County Office for the Aging (OFA) and Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Nutrition Services, seniors will soon have the opportunity to enjoy a great meal, participate in engaging activities, and build new friendships in the City of Oswego.
Prior to its official opening, OCO Nutrition Services and OFA will host an Open House at the new Senior Dining and Activity Center on May 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Seniors aged 60 and over along with their family members are invited to stop in, enjoy a cup of coffee, learn how to sign up for onsite meals, and discover the variety of activities that will be offered at the center.
Located at 74 Bunner Street in the newly remodeled Office for the Aging Senior Space, the Oswego Senior Dining and Activity Center will officially open on May 12th. The center will operate weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
“The Dining & Activity Centers provide a wonderful place for seniors to enjoy a nutritious lunch and socialize with friends,” said Lori Halstead, Coordinator of OCO Nutrition Services. “There are crafts, games, birthday celebrations, annual holiday parties, and so much more to look forward to, all while enjoying a healthy meal.
“We’ve been looking to open a Senior Dining and Activity Center in Oswego for some time. Thanks to Sara Sunday, Aging Services Administrator with the Oswego County Office for the Aging, we found a home for the center and are excited to open the doors and welcome seniors from the Oswego community.”
Open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Oswego Senior Dining and Activity Center welcomes all community members aged 60 and over. Those wishing to attend and dine at the center should call the center manager in advance at 315-598-4712, ext. 0. Lunch is served at 12:00 noon, with plenty of time for activities before and after the meal.
“Please join us for the Oswego Senior Dining and Activity Center Open House on May 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 74 Bunner Street in Oswego,” added Halstead.
