FULTON, NY – Participants from Oswego County Opportunities’ Fulton Dining and Activity Center demonstrated their prowess at Wii Bowling as they captured first place in the National Senior Wii Bowling Tournament.
Teams from OCO’s Fulton, Constantia, and Phoenix Dining and Activity centers competed against teams throughout the country in a tournament that consisted of seven weeks of conference play followed three weeks of playoffs.

“It was a great experience for them,” said program services coordinator Bridget Dolbear. “Wii bowling has been a big hit at our centers since we added the game systems a few years ago. The many entertaining, low-impact activities and games that are available through the Wii System provide participants with valuable exercise for both their bodies and their minds. The innovative Wii video gaming system offers an opportunity to play and compete in games such as bowling and golf just to name a few. Wii is a popular activity and there’s always plenty of requests to play.”
Dolbear added that Wii is just one of the many activities and programs offered at OCO’s Dining and Activity Centers.
In addition to enjoying lunch, sharing quality time with other community members, and creating new friendships, OCO’s Dining and Activity Centers provide a variety of educational and recreational opportunities making the centers a popular destinations for those age 60 and older.
