FULTON, NY – Oswego County Opportunities recently recognized its Children’s Services for its outstanding contribution to the OCO in-house campaign in support of the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Each year OCO presents a special trophy to the agency service unit with the highest percentage of participation in the campaign.
For the 2009/2010 campaign year the honor went to OCO’s Children’s Services.
United Way campaign coordinator for OCO Jo-Lyn Phillips was impressed with the level of participation from Children’s Services and was happy to present them with the trophy.
“The employees in this work unit really put forth a remarkable effort. One facility, Pinewoods Head Start Center, led the way for the service unit, achieving a participation rate of more than 70 percent. Their generosity helped us to exceed our overall agency goal as we raised more than $13,000 for the United Way of Greater Oswego County. An amazing accomplishment when you consider the current economic environment,†said Phillips.
OCO’s Children’s Services operates Head Start and Universal Pre-K sites in Cleveland, Phoenix, Oswego, Fulton, Pulaski and Williamstown as well as day care services at the Discovery Day Care Center in Phoenix.
