OCO Summer Food Service Program Providing Free Meals for Oswego County Children

FULTON, NY – Bridget Dolbear, program services coordinator for Oswego County Opportunities, has announced that OCO is participating in the Summer Food Service Program again this year.

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like OCO to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. Funded through the New York State Education Department, the Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to all children 18 years and under.

Meals will be available at the following sites and times. Orders for meals are placed the day before you attend.

Taft Bay Park 851 St. Route 49, Bernhards Bay
Lunch  – 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.  –  Monday through Thursday  –  July 2 through August 21

Palermo Recreation, 1779 County Route 45, Palermo
Breakfast – 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. and Lunch noon – 1 p.m.  –  Monday through Friday  –  July 30 through August 8

West Monroe Park, 2 Depot Road, West Monroe
Lunch – 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  –  Monday through Thursday – July 7 through August 7

Fulton CYO, 365 W. First St., Fulton
Breakfast – 9 – 9:30 a.m. and Lunch – noon – 1p.m.  –  Monday through Friday – July 7 through August 22

Times and dates are subject to change.

“We are happy to be able to offer the Summer Food Service Program.  I encourage families to participate in the program and remember that hunger doesn’t take a vacation,” said Dolbear.

Acceptance and participation requirements for the program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
