OSWEGO -The Oswego Middle School’s Backpack Program, which sends packages of donated food home with students each weekend, reaches a crescendo each year during the holiday season and school officials are thanking supporters for their generosity.

“Without the support of people and local businesses, it would not be possible to help all the students that we do,” said OMS Principal Mary Beth Fierro.
The Backpack Program supplies more than 20 families weekly with nutritious, healthy meals and snack supplies and Fierro said in cases like last week, when school breaks are longer than just a weekend, volunteers come through with flying colors in making sure no family at OMS goes hungry during the holidays.
“We would like to give a big thank you to those that helped out with donations,” Fierro said.
