NEW HAVEN – New Haven Elementary students and their families flocked to the school’s annual open house event to share in the excitement with teachers over the start of the 2017-18 school year.

Principal Jennifer Granholm greeted everyone as they walked in the main entrance before they disbursed to their classrooms and special areas.

Students were excited to show their personal work spaces to their guests and they beamed with pride over their projects and artwork displayed throughout the halls.

Third grade teacher Andrea Searles offered a classroom scavenger hunt with a prize of satisfaction of a job well done.

Several teachers offered popcorn treats, as a thanks to families for “popping” in to open house. Parent-teacher conference sing-ups also were encouraged.

Perhaps some of the biggest hits of the night were the book fair in the library and in the cafeteria free books, community information, a bake sale and family photographs with a western-theme backdrop were also available.
