OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego AmeriCorps recently welcomed a new class of AmeriCorps members pledging to “Get Things Done” for Oswego County. Members are still needed to fill current openings in several Oswego County communities.

AmeriCorps members in Oswego County provide fitness and nutrition activities for youth and manage volunteers.
AmeriCorps positions are available at Camp Hollis, Mexico Elementary School, New Haven Elementary School, Oswego Health and Oswego Public Library.
“During their term of service, AmeriCorps members expand opportunity for themselves, gain skills and experience to jump-start their careers, and earn education awards for their service,” said Kathy Andolina, Oswego AmeriCorps program coordinator for the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
The current positions require 900 hours of service. Members receive a minimal living allowance totaling $6,627 paid through bi-weekly pay checks while serving in the program. Members also receive an education award of $2,960, which may be used for tuition or student loans at qualified institutions, at the completion of their term.
