OSWEGO, NY – Patrick Dewine, executive director of United Way of Greater Oswego County announced that the Oswego Fire Fighters Association Local 126 is currently collecting school supplies at its main headquarters, 35 E. Cayuga St. in Oswego through today, Aug. 18, in support of the United Way Stuff-A-Bus campaign.

Made possible through a collaboration between United Way and Oswego County school districts, the United Way’s annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign collects school supplies for children in need throughout Oswego County.
“The Oswego Firefighters Association continues to provide significant support for initiatives that benefit our youth,” said Dewine. “The generosity of the Oswego Fire Department is a welcome boost to our Stuff-A-Bus campaign and helps allow us to provide as many children as possible with the school supplies they need to start the school year.”
In addition to serving as a collection point the Oswego Firefighters Association pledges an annual donation of school supplies to the campaign. “We appreciate the important work the United Way does in the Oswego community, and are proud to lend our support to the Stuff-A-Bus campaign,” said Firefighter and President of the Oswego Firefighters Association John Geraci.
School supplies are also being collected at the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, 70 Bunner St. in Oswego and at City Hall, 13 W. Oneida St., Oswego.
“Stuff-A-Bus committee member Jennifer Losurdo has done an excellent job in reaching out to these entities. With the effort our committee members have put forth we are looking forward to filling all our buses during our community Stuff-A-Bus collection day,” added Dewine.
The Stuff-A-Bus community collection day is taking place today, August 18, as the United Way looks to fill school buses with school supplies from pens and pencils to notebooks and backpacks.
