OSWEGO – The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee recently recognized World War II veteran Ralph D’Amico for his lifetime of community citizenship and national service.
An Oswego native, D’Amico served as a ground crew chief in the U.S. Army before settling back home.
He was the director of the Oswego County Board of Health for 26 years and worked as the manager of Nestlés Federal Credit Union where he was given the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award in 2009.

He was also the director of the Syracuse Credit Union District and inducted into the Credit Union Hall of Fame in 2010.
Earlier this year, D’Amico celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends.
