Oswego County Commends McGinley

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented a certificate of commendation to Cassie McGinley, a telecommunicator with the Oswego County E-911 Department.

McGinley was recently named the EMS Communication Specialist of the Year in the five-county region of Cayuga, Cortland, Oswego, Onondaga and Tompkins counties.

The award is presented to a dispatcher or call-taker in the region who shows dedication, responsibility, professional behavior, special skills or insight to pre-hospital communications.

In a specific incident last year, McGinley answered a call for assistance and, following emergency dispatch protocol, enabled the caller to successfully perform CPR and save the life of another.

Her quick response and demonstration of calm caring is a remarkable example to others.
