MEXICO – Oswego County P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) students participated in nationally-recognized Manufacturing Day on October 6, where they had the chance to talk to local business partners about careers in manufacturing.

Hosted at CiTi, industry partners Huhtamaki, Sunoco, Novelis, Davis-Standard and The Fulton Companies set up booths with materials and demonstrations.
Representatives shared information about the mission of their company and the jobs they are always looking to fill.
“Manufacturing Day provided our students the opportunity to meet with staff from our industry partners and learn more about the fields of mechanical and electrical technology,” said P-TECH Principal Bill Lynch. “It was a huge success, and we are very appreciative of the commitment and support of Novelis, Huhtamaki, The Fulton Companies, Sunoco and Davis-Standard.”

Students were tasked with visiting each company and inquiring about the skills required of employees as well as identifying how their coursework might prepare them for a future career.
According to mfgday.com, “Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers.”
