Oswego County St. Baldrick’s Day Planning Committee Gives Updates

OSWEGO COUNTY – The planning committee for the 14th annual St. Baldrick’s Day in Oswego County met last night to come up with a revised plan. Here are the highlights of our discussions:
We have decided to postpone our event, tentatively re-scheduling for Sunday, June 14  same location, same hours (many, many thanks to our gracious host at the Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center!).
Our website and account will remain active throughout, so donations can continue to be processed, but our committee members are going to take a little time off to take care of our families, friends, and neighbors, too. Once we get to about four weeks out from June 14, we’ll begin to ramp up again and renew our enthusiasm for what could be a record-breaking year.
Instead of holding on to cash and checks until June, we ask that our participants please refer to the “How to submit your donations” section of the Shavee Tips page (click on the Resource Lounge to find these links).
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with chocolate today at Stone’s Candies in Oswego. The owners have offered to donate a percentage of the entire day’s sales. Visit their new location at 23 W. Seneca St; hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
With an extra 11 weeks, participants have time to recruit more teammates, collect more donations, and help spread the word. Childhood cancers aren’t taking time off; in fact, this pandemic threatens sick children with immune systems that are already weak. Kids with cancer still need research that is funded by St. Baldrick’s.
Thanks to everyone for your understanding and support.

Sincerely,
Dan Witmer
