OSWEGO – In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Oswego County Suicide Prevention Coalition and Broadwell Hospitality Group are proud to announce a new partnership aimed at raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention throughout Oswego County.
Throughout the month of May, Steamers Restaurant and other Broadwell Hospitality properties will distribute specially designed coasters and takeout order stickers featuring messages of hope and information about the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. These materials are part of a broader campaign to reduce stigma, spark conversation, and connect community members with life-saving resources.
“We know that mental health is just as important as physical health, and this partnership allows us to meet people where they are — even while enjoying a meal,” said Travis Bulluck, Coalition Manager of the Oswego County Suicide Prevention Coalition. “A small reminder on a coaster or takeout bag can start a conversation, or even save a life.”
The effort underscores both organizations’ shared commitment to supporting the well-being of Oswego County. With an inviting atmosphere and wide reach across the region, Broadwell Hospitality Group’s restaurants and venues provide a unique opportunity to amplify this important message.
The Oswego County Suicide Prevention Coalition will also work continuously throughout the month of May to partner with additional bars and restaurants across the county to distribute coasters and raise awareness surrounding mental health and suicide prevention.
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline offers free, confidential, 24/7 support for people in distress, prevention, and crisis resources. This partnership seeks to ensure every resident and visitor knows that help is just three digits away.
