OSWEGO, NY – On July 2, class 25 of the Utica Fire Academy held a graduation ceremony for its 16 recruit firefighters.

The ceremony was held at Mohawk Valley Community College.
Among the 16 graduates from eight departments throughout New York State were Oswego City firefighters Matthew K. Alton and Anthony D. Sterio.
The 14-week academy included live fire, hazardous materials, code enforcement, search and rescue as well as an intense physical training program.
“We congratulate firefighter Sterio and firefighter Alton on the successful completion of The Utica Fire Academy and welcome them back to their regular duty shift,” said Chief Jeff McCrobie.
