Area youngsters of all ages can take part in free bicycle obstacle courses, and get properly fitted for a bike helmet during the Fulton bicycle rodeo to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4th in the parking lot of the Fulton Community Center.
This free event will also offer drawings for free bikes, air hop rides, bike registrations, food and more.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department will provide free child identification cards through its Operation Safe Child program, while Menter’s Ambulance Service will provide an ambulance on site, for a close up look at the vehicle. A representative from Doyle’s Bike Sales will also be on hand to offer repairs.
Sponsoring the event is the Fulton Police Department, Oswego Health, the City of Fulton, Dunkin Donuts, the Child Advocacy Center, and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Council.
The Fulton Police Department will provide the free helmets that will be fit by certified staff from Oswego Hospital’s emergency room. This hospital department initiative is aimed toward reducing the number of youth head injuries.
In the event of rain, the rodeo will be held inside the Fulton Community Center.
