Oswego Library Program Is For The Birds

OSWEGO – See Pretzel, Kyra, and Takara at the Oswego Public Library on November 14.

MorganEagle Falconry’s Nomajean Albright brings these amazing birds of prey to the Community Room at 6 p.m. for a discovery hour.

See equipment used in the sport of falconry and hear explanations on how these birds are used in hunting live game.

Learn about each bird’s characteristics and hunting styles and how they are used in the sport.

These majestic birds are very important to our environment helping to control mice and small animal populations.

Birds of prey present in your area show a healthy environment with a wide and balanced diversity of animal and plant species, adequate ground cover, and no poisons.

Albright is currently a General Class falconer.

She has practiced falconry for the past six years, working with various birds of prey including the Harris hawk, Lanner falcon, and Red Tail hawk stopping here.

Along with her husband, Mark Albright, and their daughter, Caitlyn, they have been bringing the sport of kings and their love of these regal birds to the public eye.

The Oswego Public Library is open every day of the week.

They are open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
