Oswego Police Department Recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month

OSWEGO, NY – In recognition of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month the Oswego City Police Department will display purple ribbons on its patrol vehicles as purple is the official color for Domestic Violence Awareness.
Additionally, Oswego City Hall is bathed in purple light and there is a “Silent Witness and Survivor Flag” display on the grounds with purple flags representing victims and survivors of domestic violence.
“We appreciate the support we’ve received from the city in helping us raise awareness of domestic violence right here in Oswego County,” said Oswego County Opportunities Services to Aid Families Community Response Coordinator Stacie France.

SAF is the domestic violence and rape crisis program for Oswego County and has provided crisis, supportive, advocacy and educational services throughout Oswego County for more than 30 years.
