FULTON, NY – Kiernan Percival, a G. Ray Bodley High School Senior, received a Fulton Music Association (FMA) award of $500 and the 2026 Ernest and Mary Hamer Music Award for $1,000 at the May 9 Celebration of Community Music Concert. The concert, which featured the Fulton Community Band, under the direction of Luigi Giacomucci, G. Ray Bodley High School band director, also featured a trumpet performance by Percival. The Hamer award is in honor and memory of Mary and Ernest Hamer and their love and support of music in Fulton. Their family established this scholarship for a graduating senior who plans to pursue a career in music, and who exhibits character traits valued by the Hamers, including service to others, the community, and to their country. The awards were presented by Debra Hamer Rogers and Bradford Hamer, daughter and son of the Ernest and Mary. The FMA awards recognize outstanding seniors in the high school music program.
