Fairgrieve Elementary School recently hosted a Reading is Fundamental Day where students were encouraged to be lifelong learners.

Reading teacher Veronica Williams walked into a Morning Express program at the school dressed in tropical attire and a camera around her neck as she gave students one simple message: reading can take you anywhere.
Principal Jean Ciesla read a brief synopsis of seven books, which were awarded to one student from each grade level.
Throughout the day, all students received a brand new book to take home.
Ciesla encouraged students to remind their teachers and parents when it might be time to pick up a book and read.
