Soldiers receive new rank, new responsibilities

LATHAM, NY – Major General Patrick A. Murphy, The Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capabilities for additional responsibility and leadership.

Tyler Weaver from Parish and serving with the Company B, 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion is promoted to the rank of Specialist.

Brittany Fetterman from Oswego and serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 102nd Military Police Battalion is promoted to the rank of Private.

Evan Mitchell from Central Square and serving with the B Troop, 2-101 Cavalry (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition) is promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.

These promotions additionally recognize the best qualified Soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber Citizen Soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard.
