Assemblyman Will Barclay made the following statement after it was publicly announced that Oswego Health was awarded a $13 million grant under the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program.
The grant will enable Oswego Health to restructure its inpatient and outpatient services to improve access to behavioral health.
“This is great news for Oswego Health and for the entire county. I was happy to work with Oswego Health and to advocate on their behalf to receive this funding from the New York State Department of Health. Improving access to behavioral health services will help the hospital to better serve those in need of mental or emotional treatment and those struggling with addiction or chemical dependency. Oswego County’s suicide rate continues to be higher than the statewide average and it is hoped that improving access to behavioral services can help save lives. The grant will help health professionals to ultimately provide better services to those in need.”
