Volney Elementary School students were treated to a spirit assembly Jan. 31 in recognition of their positive behavior and for being role models.

Students from all grades united in the auditorium to sing “You Can Count on Me” prior to Principal Lisa Garofalo recognizing one student from each classroom for exemplifying the character trait of tolerance.
In addition to the classroom role models, 19 students were awarded certificates for being “On A Roll” models.
The monthly classroom role models were Conner Rowe, Holly Cornell, Cole Havens, Colten Norton, Ceara Johnson, Leanna Rupert, Zayne Williamson, Shayla Sykes, Emilee Vant, Logan McDougall, Kaydin Dunsmore, Jaxson Jodway, Haili Gist, Phoebe Blair, Collin Wells, Kalista Reynolds, Andrew Dunning, Kevin Vanburan and Alexis Barth.

Students earning recognition as the monthly “On a Roll” models included Collin Austin, Owen Gilbert, Haley Taplin, Dominick Vosseller, Tyler Ingersoll, Anna Lund, Jarret Austin, Rhyle Humphrey, Caiden Taber, Madison Flood, Alexis Bardin, Makayla Ellis, Jordan Garrison, Tim Jodway, Jennie Hammond, Branden Barnes, Cassie Seaton, Hailey LaClaire and Lyle Beeman.
To cap off the assembly, Garofalo read the story Spaghetti in a Hotdog Bun, a tale about treating others as you want to be treated.
