Submit Your Best Shots to NYSAC’s Photo Contest by May 1

OSWEGO COUNTY – The New York State Association of Counties (NYSAC) announces the opening of its annual photo contest. This year’s theme is “NY Counties Lead,” highlighting essential services, innovative programs and everyday actions that make each county a leader in New York State.

“April is National County Government Month, a time to recognize the vital work that county governments do,” said Oswego County Administrator and NYSAC President Philip Church. “This photo contest is a great opportunity to showcase the crucial services that Oswego County departments provide to strengthen our communities and support our residents. We encourage anyone with photos highlighting what makes our county exceptional to enter them in the contest for a chance to be featured in NYSAC’s publications.”

Whether it’s an infrastructure project, a community event or various county operations, photos should capture the spirit of Oswego County – in public safety, infrastructure, public health, parks and recreation, community engagement and more – demonstrating the impact of counties across the state.

Photographers of all skill levels are welcome to submit any number of images taken on any device or camera according to qualification guidelines. Photo(s) must have been taken within the last two years and applicants are responsible for getting any necessary consent allowing the image to be published. Each submission grants NYSAC the right and permission to use and publish the image in printed or electronic media.

In addition to the photo(s), all submissions must include the location (including the county), approximate date taken, name of photographer and applicant contact information.

All entries must be submitted by Friday, May 1 via email to [email protected][1].

Five winning photos that best capture the theme of the contest will be selected and published in the summer edition of the NYSAC News magazine. They will also be featured in NYSAC’s 2027 “Counties in Focus” calendar and highlighted on social media.
