OSWEGO, NY – Huck Fitzgerald is the “car” being pushed by Jillian Dowdle, both graduating sixth graders, at a recent traffic safety rodeo at Leighton School in Oswego.

Physical Education classes were transformed into summer safety lessons on roads with signs, crosswalks and even mountains.
Students went around the course on bikes and scooters with helmets securely fitted and practiced safe driving skills like full stops, riding WITH traffic, and pedestrian right of way.
Traffic Safety Rodeo equipment is available at no cost, to summer camps and group events through a grant from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
