SUNY Oswego’s VITA to help taxpayers with returns for 2013

OSWEGO – Students from the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program at SUNY Oswego’s School of Business will offer free IRS-certified help with 2013 federal and state income tax returns for area residents.

The long-running VITA program this year will have hours at the following locations, dates and times:

* Fulton, 200 N. Second St.: Tuesdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. from Feb. 4 to April 8 – except for March 18.

* Oswego, 96 Hamilton St.: Thursdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and 27, March 13 and 27 and April 10.

* SUNY Oswego, Rich Hall: Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Feb. 1 to April 12 – except March 15 and 22.

Taxpayers should bring identification, last year’s returns, STAR rebate receipts, W-2 forms and other pertinent tax paperwork to the VITA site.

The service includes free electronic filing.
