Oswego County BOCES’ Arts-In-Education program coordinated a West African storyteller’s visit to Fairley Elementary School in Hannibal on October 22.

Robbi Kumalo, also known as Robbi K, presented two West African storytelling programs of “How the Turtle Got His Shell.”
Her folk tale storytelling with a character education tone also incorporated many African influences including her drum and the introduction of Zulu and Swahili language to students who attended the presentations.
She encouraged students to look for cultural elements in music, dance and storytelling. The Arts-In-Education program at Oswego County BOCES is coordinated by Marsha Marcarian.
