Fulton, NY – As part of the Child Advocacy Center’s (CAC) 9th Annual Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse, community members are invited to attend the post-ride picnic. Scheduled for Sept. 8, the Blue Ribbon Ride picnic will be held at Wheel-A-Way Motorsports, Route 57 in Fulton.

“We’ve planned a family friendly picnic that everyone will be able to enjoy. There will be plenty of great Bar-B-Q from Limp Lizard, and live music with one of the area’s newest favorite performers, Tiger. There will also be a basket raffle and door prizes, including a drawing for a children’s bike, courtesy of Walmart Super Center in Fulton and the Perwitz Family,” said Karrie Damm, executive director of the Child Advocacy Center.
Beginning at approximately noon, the post-ride picnic is an opportunity for community members to watch the return and hear the rumble of all the motorcycles participating in the Blue Ribbon Ride.
“It truly is an amazing experience to behold as we make some noise to draw attention to the child abuse epidemic in our community,” said Damm. “We encourage community members to support child abuse prevention and awareness efforts and lend their voices to this important cause.”
The cost of the post-ride picnic is $10 for adults, $5 for children. Registration is still open for riders and passengers. A $30 donation per driver and a $20 donation per passenger are requested. Riders who obtain $150 or more in donations will ride and dine for free. Drivers and riders will also be able to register the day of the event beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the Blue Ribbon Ride beginning at 10 a.m.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the CAC as they continue their mission to assist in the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child victims of sexual and physical abuse in Oswego County.
“With the demand for our services increasing, we are looking to make this our most successful Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse ever,” Damm said.
The CAC is a non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with local law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, medical providers, mental health providers, and victim advocacy professionals in Oswego County to protect and serve child victims of sexual and physical abuse.
