Oswego County Federal Credit Union Commits $36,000 to Local Food Banks as SNAP Program Faces Disruption.

OSWEGO, NY, November 04, 2025 – Oswego County Federal Credit Union (OCFCU) announced today a $36,000 emergency donation distributed among six local food assistance organizations to help community members affected by the recent disruption in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

The donation provides $6,000 to each of the following organizations:
– Erin’s Angels
– Human Concerns
– Mexico Food Pantry
– Pulaski Community Cupboard
– Catholic Charities of Fulton
– Oswego County Opportunities

This contribution will help these vital community organizations meet the increased demand for food assistance as families navigate the interruption of the SNAP program.
“It is critical as a financial partner in Oswego County that we are there to support the needs of our members and non-members,” said Bill Carhart, CEO of Oswego County Federal Credit Union. “While SNAP is delayed, hunger is not.”

The loss of SNAP benefits has created an immediate crisis for thousands of residents in Oswego County, who depend on the program for nutritional support. OCFCU’s rapid response demonstrates the credit union’s commitment to the cooperative principle of “people helping people” and its dedication to supporting the financial and overall well-being of area residents during times of need.
The six recipient organizations serve communities throughout Oswego County, providing emergency food assistance, meal programs, and nutritional support to families facing food insecurity.
