Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Set to Roll Into Oswego County, May 4, 2010

Recruitment begins for OZ Roller Derby, the very first all women’s flat track roller derby in Oswego County on May 4th, at Old City Hall starting at 6PM. This informational meeting will cover all aspects of roller derby including equipment, time commitment, training, refereeing and volunteers. Queen City RD, CNYRD, and Assault City RD have all expressed the desire to help and of course bout OZ team as soon as we are able!

Wicked Evil Step Mom (aka Victoria Usherwood-Gailinas) the founder of roller derby in New Hampshire (ManchVegas Roller Girls, ManchVegas Men in Black and the Monadnock Region Roller Derby) is now looking to extend to her own hometown, Oswego, NY. Their mission is to bring roller derby and it benefits to women of all ages and sizes or athletic ability and create sisterhood among all women. In the spirit of community, they promote and support all small local area businesses (private and charitable) as they are the backbone of this country.
