FULTON, NY – Fulton Rotary Club member Steve Osborne introduced Chad Whelsky from Workforce New York, at a recent Rotary Club meeting.
Chad said that the purpose of Workforce New York is to put people to work and keep them in Oswego County.

They try to tailor training to what companies in Oswego County need.
They train the unemployed, the underemployed and those not happy in their line of work.
There are tax dollars available to local private businesses through grants.
The tax incentives include people on assistance, veterans, ex-felons and the disabled.
Chad reported that Workforce New York has many ideas and plans to get people employed.
One of the techniques that works very well is the mock interview.
Once an unemployed person has mastered the techniques of the interview, they are much more at ease when talking to a prospective employer about a job.
