HANNIBAL – Hannibal students recently explored the importance of creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration (the 4Cs) as part of a lesson from the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse.

Actors from the youth theatre program were on hand to discuss 21st century skills during several interactive workshops in third and fourth grade classrooms.
Students learned the art of storytelling and how “a picture says 1,000 words.”
They were tasked to tap into their creativity and add details to a story, essentially turning a blank canvas into a work of art.
“This was such a fun, creative way to work on 21st century skills,” said teacher Nancy Miller. “We work on these things in class every day.”
The workshop also introduced students to the profession of acting and covered some of the requirements and skills necessary to become an actor.
Students learned that the “4Cs” are critical in every profession.
