Compass Credit Union Announces Merger

OSWEGO, NY – Compass Federal Credit Union and Oswego Heritage Federal Credit Union announced today (April 1) that the merger between their two credit unions has been finalized. Operational integration will be completed by August 1.

Thomas O’Toole, manager of Compass since 1989, will continue to lead the combined organization.

“We are excited to make this announcement and to expand our services to the Fulton area, bringing new services to Heritage members, such as Visa cards and mobile banking with Remote Deposit Capture, and allowing all of our members more conveniences,” said O’Toole.

With the completion of the merger, Compass will have a total of 7 branch locations to better serve members.

The main office will remain at 131 George St. in Oswego.

Other locations include the Novelis plant, Oswego Hospital, Canalview Mall in Fulton, Davis-Standard in Fulton, Hillside Plaza in Oswego, and Culkin Hall on the SUNY Oswego campus.

Both credit unions are well-respected and share a deep commitment to members and the local community.

The credit unions have offered employment to all employees of Oswego Heritage Federal Credit Union as of the merger date.

Compass Credit Union provides financial services to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Oswego County, and their relatives.

Established in 1966, the credit union serves more than 5,700 members and manages more than $38 million in assets.
